Anyone that is an endurance athlete will find this book very interesting. This book is amazing and sums up many of the reasons why I do all of these endurance events. I highly recommend this book to any athlete that has ever wondered why we do the things we do.

Great piece of hydration gear: Camelbak Octane XC 70oz Trailrunning pack. Perfect combination of hydrating volume, stow pouches, and design. I used it recently for a hardcore 12mi.trail run, and was thrilled with its performance enhancing ability. I stayed hydrated and could carry supplements in easy to reach pouches. Very comfortable too with air flow venting.

Let’s face it – these days traveling by plane can be an absolute nightmare. I look forward to an airplane flight about as much as I look forward to having a limb amputated with a dull knife.
The last few years I have taken Jet Blue from my home in California to races in New York and Boston. I can say without a doubt that I would not fly any other airline. I have never been delayed or arrived at my destination late. I paid the extra $20 to get the extra leg room - it is well worth it.
I say if you are headed to a race and have to fly – take Jet Blue.
We are not affiliated with Jet Blue in any way or compensated by them in any way. This is just our opinion. If you have an opinion – write a review of a product and we will publish it here.

1up Bicycle Trainer

I have had a 1up bike trainer for 3 years now. I have used it at least twice a week every week since I have purchased it. I have never had any problems. The trainer is quiet and since it is a magnetic trainer there is not chance that it will leak oil all over my house or garage. I would recommend this trainer to anyone looking to purchase one.

Mizuno Ascend trail shoe

I run a lot of miles on the trails and I have yet to find a better trail shoe. This shoe feels like a road shoe but with all of the protection you would expect from a trail shoe. It has a wide toe box that keeps me from getting blisters. I no longer tape my feet before trail ultras up to 50 miles.
This shoe could use a little more cushion in the front and the yellow color is absolutely hideous but I willing to put up with the color.

The Garmin Forerunner 305 is a great update to the 301. The new antenna incorporated into the 305 means that in many places where my 301 dropped the satellite signal the 305 is receiving with no trouble. I regularly run on the trails and find that I lose my satellite signal only the in most dense forest cover. I prefer the 305 due to the addition of the heart rate monitor. The 205 offers the same functionality but without the heart rate monitor.
The size of the 305 is much improved (meaning smaller) since the 301. I always felt like I had a small laptop strapped to my wrist with the 301. The size of the unit could still use some improvement and making the unit waterproof would be a dream come true.

Win Detergent

I have used Win Detergent for several months to determine if it actually worked better than regular detergent. I can say that it did a much better job of getting that long run funk out of my performance fabric shirts, and shorts. I tried washing some of my older shirts that have seen way too many long runs. It did not remove the "perma-funk: that seems to get into the performance fabrics after a while. the shirt was noticeably less maloderous but not complete scent free.
